Scotland at home to Afghanistan

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scotland will play Afghanistan on home ground for the first time in official ICC competitive matches next summer. The venue selected for the four-day Intercontinental Cup game and two One-Day Internationals in August is the Citylets Ayr ground (New Cambusdoon).

 

Afghanistan has had a meteoric rise through the various diisions of the International Cricket Council's World Cricket League, on the strength of some thrillingly uninhibited performances. Afghanistan became an official ICC Associate-level nation after finishing in the top-six of the World Cup qualifying tournament in South Africa last April.

 

Scotland are due to play Afghanistan in the second of their three pool matches in the forthcoming World Twenty20 Cup qualifying tournament in Abu Dhabi on February 10. The matches scheduled for Ayr will be the first official I-Cup and ODI meetings between the two countries, on the following dates:

 

Wednesday to Saturday August 11-14  ICC Intercontinental Cup
Scotland v Afghanistan at Citylets Ayr (New Cambusdoon)

Monday and Wednesday August 16 and 18  ICC One-Day Internationals
