Indoor Media report – Week 1
In one of the few major Scottish sporting events to survive the weather last weekend, the coveted Cricket Media Indoor 6’s commenced at The National Cricket Academy with Martin Currie (formally Royal Bank of Scotland), Uddingston and SMRH all in action. The first encounter saw Martin Currie who have won the event for the last two seasons overcome SMRH as ex-internationalist Gregor Maiden breezed to 58* and although the Brock brothers gave some resistance for SMRH with scores of 38* and 28* respectively, they fell short by 25 runs.
SMRH were soon to redeem themselves in their second game of the evening by defeating indoor debutants Uddingston. J Brock was again in the runs with 28* and supported by J Moran with 38* they were able to get to 160/3 off their 10 overs. In reply Uddingston could only make 104 with B Clarke the only man to make the scorers work with 32*.
Unfortunately for Uddingston the night was about to get even worse as they came up against the experienced Martin Currie team who restricted their opponents to 87/4 off 10 of which N McLeod scored 29, Currie then proceeded to chase the score down for the loss of no wicket in 4.4 overs as S Davidson and D Hodge knocking off the runs.
