141-run Scottish partnership in vain as Irish cruise to final victory
Ireland have beaten Scotland by a comfortable six wickets in the final of the World Cricket League Division 1 at Amstelveen. Despite a superb opening partnership of 141 between Preston Mommsen (80) and Fraser Watts, Scotland lost their first seven wickets for 28 runs, leaving Watts (98) and Drummond (30) to post a total of 232 all out. After slumping to 53-3, though, Ireland's fourth-wicket partnership of 160 effectively snuffed out the Scottish challenge without breaking sweat in the hot conditions.
