Come on Ladies Give Cricket A Go.
Stirling County Cricket Club are to launch a ladies section for 2010 at the glorious New Williamfield ground in Stirling.
This new section is for girls and women (of all ages and abilities) who are interested in giving cricket a go or indeed are looking for something to do during the long summer nights; . sessions will start on Wednesday 5th May 6.30pm – 8pm and will be run by the club’s fully qualified and experienced coaches.
New Williamfield the home of Stirling County Cricket Club is also used by the National Senior Women’s team – The Scottish Wildcats – as the team’s home base. SCCC see developing a ladies section paramount to their development as a growing club. If sufficient interest in the new section the club will be looking to stage friendly games against other ladies teams.
Stirling County member and current Wildcats captain, Kari Anderson is excited by the development “Don’t worry ladies if you have never tried cricket, it will be fun! The training sessions will give you an idea on how to bat, bowl and field in a safe enjoyable manner. Even if you have never played before, give it a go!
Regular visitors to New Williamfield will be aware that the – brand new – clubhouse has spectacular views of the Stirling Castle and Wallace’s Monument and boasts a very spacious and comfortable lounge with fully stocked bar!
